Snowboarding at Keystone (and Breckenridge) |
| Keystone Mountain sports some of the finest terrain park
facilities for snowboarding in North America. Area 51 is 20 acres
of officially 'most difficult' diamond terrain with a vertical
of 600 ft. It is lighted for night snowboarding. And the Packsaddle
Lift, which you see from Tenderfoot Lodge,
takes you right to Area 51.
On the left side of Keystone Mountain's front side runs, Jackwhacker has been converted to snowboarding terrain park status. This is a long, long run on a snowboard. Snowboarding is now allowed essentially everywhere on the ski runs of both Keystone Mountain and Breckenridge. But always check for local postings. The issue has always been SAFETY. If an errant ski is a tactical missile, a loose snowboard can be a weapon of mass destruction. Avoid becoming an outlawed terrorist!
