Skiing in and around Summit County |
| Summit County has four commercial skiing locations:
Keystone Mountain, Arapahoe Basin,
Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain.
Vail lies just over Vail Pass to the west. And Loveland Basin just
over Loveland Pass to the east.
All told, six of Colorado's world famous ski locales lie within 40 mi of Tenderfoot Lodge, likely the highest concentration of skiing opportunities in North America! They include, according to the Readers Poll of Ski Magazine, 4 of the top 10 ski resorts in North America. Several shuttles interconnect Keystone, A-Basin, Breckenridge, Copper, Vail Beaver Creek, and Loveland in a network of free transportation -- especially useful when the most adventuresome family members don't need to be the ones driving the rental car. Summit County is easier to reach than other more famous, more expensive skiing destinations. Thanks to I70 and the Eisenhower Tunnel, Tenderfoot Lodge is only 70 miles from Denver. Frequent, economical shuttle service is available from Denver International Airport. |

Rockies' typically means at least an inch or two of fresh powder on
top of a solid base. Summit County slopes receive well over 200" of
snow each winter. Snow overnight,
